Vegas Style – 40th Birthday Celebration!

Birthday Suit - Vegas If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know that I just celebrated the big 4-0 in Vegas this past weekend!  That’s right the big 4-0!!! (Who can even believe that btw).  Anyway, I had such an amazing time!!  I had been to Vegas before, about 10 years ago.  I  enjoyed myself then but I was so blown away by just how much Vegas has changed since then — in a good way!

I think the thing that I love the most about Vegas is that the fashion follows the “anything goes” rule…  you can wear sequins and 5 inch heels at 10am in the morning if you want and no one is going to even give it a second thought!  It’s such an opportunity to look fabulous for no reason at all and believe me, me and my girlfriends definitely took every advantage of that!!

Shopping at The Fashion Show Mall (Tinley Road Faux Leather Peplum, Zara Jeans, Zara Booties, Gucci Sunnies, Zara Clutch, J. Crew Chain Link Necklace):

A Night Out at Mandalay Bay for the Cirque de Soleil’s Michael Jackson Experience — which was absolutely incredible btw (Zara Dress, Vince Camuto Heels, Urban Expressions Purse, Zara Pearl Necklace):Zara Black & White One Sleeve Dress

Bonus tip…  the 5 inch heels may not last long if you are walking for awhile so do be sure to bring along a pair of flats to switch into.  I was super glad that I had packed these bad boys (Flats to Go c/o kushyfoot) just in case.  Popped them on several times throughout the trip! Definitely came in handy!  And they are cute and comfy too!  Thanks kushyfoot!!!

Where Am I: Vegas Baby!!

What do you love about Vegas?  What is your favorite thing to wear while there?

  1. OMG!!!! I absolutely LOVE Vegas!!!! I got married there and renewed my wedding vows just this past August. I know most folks consider it as SIN CITY but for me it’s the City of Love and where memories are made! BTW, you look great!!!!

  2. Happy Birthday girlie! Let’s see I went to Vegas twice recently, one at the end of June and again at the end of July. My day outfit was mostly swimwear from VS, then at night like you said it was very much anything goes! The girls and I was told we had a dress code of dresses only, the people we met got us into VIP seating at most of the clubs so I did not hesitate to say okay! Although one night I wore a black romper with cut out in the back and cheetah pumps from Aldo… rebel haha. 🙂 I love your ballet flats idea, I’ve always thought about buying some, they look easy to fold up, do they fit in your clutch? Then do you just carry your shoes or did you bring a large enough purse. That’s my problem I never want to carry a large purse when I’m on vacay just around town. You look so lovely. I’m glad you had fun. I saw Thunder from down under… twice haha but I wish I did see Cirque de Soleil’s… maybe next year!

    • Thank you!!! Sounds like I need to start traveling with you… VIP seating – Nice!! The ballet flats do fold up perfectly — they’ll fit in a small purse but I do suggest taking a tote that will fit your shoes too! How was Thunder Down Under? We considered checking them out but decided we’ll catch them next time!!

  4. Happy belated birthday!!! I can’t think of a better place than Vegas to celebrate a birthday! It looks like you had a great time and looked fabulous celebrating it. Love Vegas!!!
The Cirque de Soleil’s Michael Jackson Experience must have been an amazing show!! Definitely something I would love to see, hopefully I’ll make back to Vegas to see it.

  5. Happy Birthday, Pretty Lady! No way that you’re 40! I refuse to believe it!
I am so glad you had a fantastic time. It has been a couple years since I have been there myself, and I think it’s about time I head back!
So a couple notes on Vegas fashion… You look so classy, beautiful, and APPROPRIATE! It is so refreshing to see someone not dressed over the top! I too love the “anything goes” mentality, but I do have to say that not everyone can get away with booty length skirts and body con dresses (although far too many girls think they can). I always feel a little old when we go there, because although I am dressed up, I prefer to be subtly, rather than overtly, sexy. And I wouldn’t be caught dead at a Vegas pool even in the best shape of my life (sheesh, I’m admitting a lot of insecurities here, yikes!). Anyway… yeah…. You look great! And I love the studded heels, meow!

  6. Happy Happy birthday!! Looks like you had a great one! Las Vegas is ALWAYS a good idea! You look gorgeous in your outfits (especially your dressy one)! If I had your grace and poise (and fashion sense) when I’m 40, I would consider myself a lucky woman :]

  7. Not that I didn’t already think you were pretty fabulous, but now that I know that you are a Libra too, makes you even more fabulous! I celebrated my birthday on Sunday!! Happy Birthday and you rocked it in Vegas!

  8. I love love Vegas, I love to play the slot machines, my ultimate fave is the Dirty Dancing-one. hehe 🙂
No, but really the whole atmosphere is so great, and I love the lights during night time. One of my favorite places on Earth!
