OOTD: Fall Trend – 50 Shades of Blue

Loft Dress - Blue Fall TrendWell, friends this is the first official week of fall and I am already finding myself “falling” right in line (I know…  that was really bad… sorry, I just couldn’t resist!).  Seriously though, I’ve definitely been mentally making the transition to cooler weather, even before this official start of the autumn season.  For weeks now, I’ve been heading over to the cooler weather section of my closet, as I have been getting more and more bored with my summer duds!

Loft Dress - Blue Fall TrendNow, if  you haven’t already noticed, blue is going to be a big on trend color for this fall.  If you think about it, this regal hue was all over the runways and is certainly showing up in many collections and looks in the stores.  In fact, many celebrity fashionistas rocked it for the recent Emmy Awards.  I’m telling you, blue may be the new black!  And the thing I love about this color is all of the variations available….  from navy to cobalt to baby blues.  It is such an elegant and sophisticated color and looks great on just about everyone.

I picked up this particular dress from Ann Taylor Loft purely because it said autumn to me.  I loved the saddle colored accents and decided to pair it with a navy print button down just to add a little more pizazz.

Are you falling for blues this autumn?

OOTD: The Target Multi-Print Ankle Pant

Target Labwork Multi Print Ankle PantThose of you who have been following the blog for awhile already know that I love Target.  It is absolutely one of my favorite places to shop.  I go there every weekend.  Sometimes I have specific reasons to go…. sometimes I just go to look around.  But my weekend does not feel complete until I’ve made it there!

Target Labwork Multi Print Ankle PantSo when I was on a mission to find the perfect printed pants a few months ago, Target was one of the places that I decided to check out.  I must admit that I’ve really taken to their clothes over the past few years.  Perhaps it’s because they’ve started to partner with some pretty fabulous fashion designers…  But regardless… whatever it is, they have definitely stepped up their fashion game!

Target Labwork Multi Print Ankle PantTake these fabulous pants for example….  I completely fell in love with the print as soon as I saw it!  The pastel colors and swirl patterns made this look such a unique twist on the printed pant!

Target Labwork Multi Print Ankle PantI decided to pair a simple white blazer and tee with the look to ensure the print was the true focal point. Overall,  I think it turned out pretty good.  Added bonus value: The pants were so affordable ($34.99 at the time and I just checked online – now on clearance for $12.24)….  not to mention that this look (and pant) transfers easily from day to night.Target Labwork Multi Print Ankle Pant

OOTD: The Pink Jersey Dress

Ann Taylor Jersey DressI’ve never really been a huge fan of the jersey dress.  Not that I was a jersey dress hater necessarily but… I just never really gravitated to them. Some jersey dresses can look a little *ahem* “inexpensive” at times and they have a nasty habit of clinging to all of the wrong places!  (That = not cute my friends)!

Ann Taylor Jersey DressBut my recent Ann Taylor shopping haul may have helped me turn the corner on my jersey dress opposition!

Ann Taylor Jersey DressI picked up this find during Ann Taylor’s recent semi annual sale.  Regular price $98.  I got it for $16!!  Yes – $16.  But, the crazy thing is… it was a complete toss up!  I really wasn’t expecting to finding anything.  I mean, I was on the hunt for a few good dresses (I’ve been majorly obsessed with wearing dresses and skirts to work lately) but let’s be honest, by the time you get to most semi-annual sales, there is usually little of interest left or if it is of interest… it is not in your size!  But somehow, the shopping fairies were on my side this time!

Ann Taylor Jersey DressAnd I am glad that they were… this dress may be one of my favorites!  Besides being my favorite color, I absolutely love how it hugs all of my curves… but not in an unflattering or sleazy way.  It is the perfect!  I added the gold belt and mint shoes for a little more pop and…  there you have it…  a great day to night look!

Spring Florals Today’s post is definitely a mixed medley of some of my favorite current fashion trends: black and white, florals and even spring brights.  Of course if you are a regular  reader of the blog, you know that I’m all over florals in particular right now.  And with spring finally deciding to arrive, I’ve been ultra inspired to rock much of the latest spring fashion.Spring Florals

Buying this skirt to dip your toe into the floral trend = getting the black and white trend for free!!!Spring Florals

Camo Skinnies: My First Zara Experience – Part 1

DSC_0035That’s right, until a few weeks ago, I was a Zara virgin.  Had never owned any Zara item.   You see, there are no actual Zara stores anywhere close to Charlotte (I think Atlanta is the closest) and I just hadn’t had much exposure to the brand.  Of course, in the blog world, it doesn’t take long to figure out that Zara offers some very funky, on trend, fashion items at (amazingly) very reasonable prices.

DSC_0026So, when I started lusting after a pair of skinny camo’s, Zara seemed like a good brand to check out.  Now, I must admit I was a little skeptical at first.  As a curvy girl, it’s difficult for me to find jeans and pants (skinny in particular) that fit properly.  And being unfamiliar with the brand, I was really nervous about the fit, but I decided to give them a try.

DSC_0056Well, all of that worry was clearly for nothing.  To say I love them would be a severe understatement.  These pants are fabulous!!  I love the worn in look, the zipper embellishments and added seams for detail.  And they fit like a glove!  They feel like that favorite pair of jeans that you’ve worn for years.  (So of course I immediately purchased 2 more pair of Zara jeans online!  Yes, Zara, this will probably be the beginning of a long and torrid love affair!).DSC_0071

Anyway, I wore this look all day on Saturday.  I decided to change it up a little while out for dinner with my girlfriends later that night (you’ll see that look in Part 2 of this post later this week).
